Midi and Vista

I'm using Windows Vista with a Realtek High Definition Audio integrated soundcard, and I'm not getting any sound out of Winamp when I play a midi file.

They play fine in Windows Media Player, using the built-in GS midi sounds.

I've observed this problem on two separate Vista computers.

Any ideas?

Although Vista totally sucks, try this...

Instead of using the built-in GS MIDI device, you can get fuller and richer MIDI sound in Winamp with the DirectMusic MIDI device enabled.

Refer to these directions/this screenshot on how to set up the DirectMusic MIDI device in Winamp Preferences.
