Midi and Vista
I'm using Windows Vista with a Realtek High Definition Audio integrated soundcard, and I'm not getting any sound out of Winamp when I play a midi file.
They play fine in Windows Media Player, using the built-in GS midi sounds. I've observed this problem on two separate Vista computers. Any ideas? |

Although Vista totally sucks, try this...
Instead of using the built-in GS MIDI device, you can get fuller and richer MIDI sound in Winamp with the DirectMusic MIDI device enabled. Refer to these directions/this screenshot on how to set up the DirectMusic MIDI device in Winamp Preferences. Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads.
