I'm on a LAN in a college dorm and I have a little project. I'm trying to find a way to have everyone on the floor playing the same music from their computers simultaneously. I thought shoutcast would be the answer to this, but in small scale experiments I've found that I get a delay of several seconds between listeners, so the music is all out of sync.
I'm running both the source and the server - is there anyway to avoid this sync problem, or should I be looking for different solutions? If so, do you have any suggestions? Any networking gurus out there that find me laughably ignorant? There must be a way that doesn't involve any extra cables. |

Noah,
Try taking a look at this plugin: http://www.winamp.com/customize/deta...mponentId=8779 I am not sure if it will allow multiple connections but it is worth a shot. Tom http://players.shoutclub.net |

That worked perfectly for two computers. Now I need to get in touch with the author and . . . encourage him to do a version that supports multiple systems. Makes me wish I knew more than three commands in C.
