"Winamp Music" download folder preference
I am wondering where I can edit the preference for where the "Winamp Music" Online Service saves files when you download them. It appears to be hard coded to the "My Music" folder, even if that folder is not listed as one of the folders in your media library.
On a side note, I ran across a bug when searching this forum. When I try to search for "winamp music" download, I get a connection error from every browser I try on Windows. I assume it's a known bug? Thanks, david |

Issue 1
The Online Services section in the ML is for streaming only. No files are saved to the hard drive for later use. Issue 2 It is more of a limitation of the forum search engine than a bug. The word 'Winamp' is so predominant throughout the forums, using it as a keyword can cause "temporary insanity" for the search function. |

@JM
There's a "free mp3 downloads from spinner.com" column/listing in Online Services -> Winamp Music. (yeah, even I didn't know about it until I saw this thread) It looks like it's hard-coded to just auto download them to "My Documents\My Music" (similar to the MP3 Blog Download Manager in Bento Browser), and also auto adds them to the Local Media database. |

Thanks for the info.
That is a little embarrassing, but at the same time I glad I not the only one who missed it. |

Yeah, absolutely, heh.
@earthsound It's probably easier to just go here in your browser: http://www.spinner.com/category/mp3/ and manually download the mp3's yourself. |

Regarding the download folder, that's what I figured. Would be nice to have even a right click context menu in that browser for save as, etc.
As for the forum search, in this day and age, I'm not sure how a capable search engine can choke on a word. Ignore the words you need to ignore, but at least give some results back and tell the user what you're ignoring. Just another .02 Thanks guys |
