Winamp hangs "Reading Disc ..."

Hopefully this is a known bug, but unfortunately I couldn't find a match in my forum searches. Ever since I upgraded to Winamp 5.531 this happens haphazardly but quite often. Say at least once within 2 to 5 CDs.

One inserts a CD, Winamp starts reading the CD and wanders then off to do the CDDB inquiry and so on. But sometimes Winamp just hangs on "Reading Disc ..." message. This happens on an IDE attached LG DVD R/W drive as well as on an SCSI attached Plextor CD R/W drive and it never happened before 5.531. Monitoring the Windows Taskmanager during this time shows Winamp quite busy and I have uselessly waited up to 5 minutes for Winamp to continue. The machine is empty with only a filemanager running together with Winamp at the time. To carry on I just exit Winamp (this sometimes takes a while) and restart. Immediately after restart Winamp reads the CD in the drive without further ado and processing continues normally for 2, 3, 4 or 5 CDs.

Any ideas?
