installing, wont connect

ok, so i have installed winamp...

i have installed shoutcast, I have followed instructions in the 'READ ME' file... and no luck with connecting...

i press ctrl+p in winamp, i choose DSP/EFFECT, i select shoutcast, the pop up box appears, i did all the options i had to, then i goto connect.

output tab.

address: localhost
port: 8000
password: (left as was in the box)
encoder: 1

I also tried my own I.P and still no luck... plus, what's the deal with a server? I havent even set that up, so im real new to this, any help is appreciated.

Well, there's your problem. You need to set up the server first. here's some handy tutorials
