WAV "Phantom" Tags
sorry if it's been discussed before.
is there a possibilty (perhaps through a plugin?) to integrate the use of "phantom" tags for WAV files in winamp? a player for os x called Play has it, for example, and what it does is let you tag WAVs within the player tag editor and stores this information somewhere in the player cache files. assuming you're not moving the files around, the "phantom" tag works. would be a nice feature to have for last.fm scrobbling and whatsnot for those who dont want to convert to FLAC etc for whatever reasons. thanks! |

WAV files do also support Metadata, (INFO and LIST chunks with several fields), and also the "Broadcasting extensions" (BWF, Broadcast Wave File) defined by the EBU. (European Broadcasting union)
Winamp displays some of those metadata, but afaik it's only the "Display Name" field... |
