play a track without adding it into any playlist
Hello,
just installed winamp. i'm searching a player like winamp or mediamonkey or helium, that support much music formats and great number of tracks, but it seems that none of them is simply able to play a little track with a preview button, without adding it in any playlist. It's for me very useful to preview tracks before adding them in my playlists. Isn't it for other users? Disappointed! |

Hey.
I think Winamp 3 had this preview-feature. Though Winamp 5 does not. But dont fear, it is on the wishlist..

Well no - I don't think that's what chaussettdeguer is looking for, Menschenfleisch. I think chaussettdeguer is looking to not have anything at all populate the playlist/playlist editor. JTFE and its queue manager queues those entries already populated in the playlist (from where you select them for the queue and in the order you select them).
Yep... I think that chaussettdeguer is making reference to the way many P2P (peer-to-peer) file sharing apps work, whereby they have a "preview" function, and then you can decide if you want to abort the download or outright delete the media before completing the download. I think chaussettdeguer is looking for an actual media player to work the same way, and of course, Winamp and other media players don't work the way chaussettdeguer wants it... it seems that none of them is simply able to play a little track with a preview button, without adding it in any playlist. chaussettdeguer... Am I correct in my assumption? If I'm right, and I think I am, then treat the way Winamp works like this, to accomplish something similar: If you have a song/media file that you are "road testing" and are unsure if you want to keep it or not, enqueue it into Winamp's EMPTY playlist. If you don't like it, then delete it (or whatever) and then CLEAR the playlist. If you like it, add it to your Media Library database and in turn you can then add it into a SAVED playlist along with other media, always retrievable from the ML. So...

I'm trying to build a playlist from songs in the media lib; Though "enqueue" will add just the selected song to the playlist, "play" adds not only the selected song, but also adds all the other songs on the album! Is there a way to disable "play" from adding anything to the playlist, and just use enqueue after I've preview the song and really want to add it to the playlist? If not how do you build a playlist contining just what you want?

Have a look at Audomate.
Constant dripping wears away the stone. Steter Tropfen höhlt den Stein. Winamp, Audomate 3.4(135), Ultramixer or E-Mix |
