Can jump to file be changed to chronological order?

I searched all over and found nothing, so sorry if this is a common question.

When I use jump to file all the songs by the artists come up alphabetical. Is there a setting that can change the order of the songs to chronological (in other words, the way they appear on the actual albums)?

thanks guys

And you can't change it

Post this to wishlist, if you want to have an option for this

Gotcha.

Winamp seems to have issues when it comes to chronologically order of songs/albums. No way to do it in the playlist editor when you load your entire library (the albums are ordered alphabetically) and no way to do it in jump file.

Is there a way to send this thread to the wishlist forum, or does a mod have to do it?

Media Library and Playlist Editor it is correct...

Artists alphabetical - albums alphabetical and tracks in the order of that particular album

-> so its perfect to me

But Jump To File Box does also sort the tracks alphabetical

but its only there to search a track in your playlist, and its sure alphabetical to have it easier to find your search wenn you have a big search result

For me its no problem

Yeah, it's not that big of a deal that jump to file is not chronological but I would prefer it.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want your albums in your playlist to be chronological but to each his own.

Maybe it's because I use winamp on my big screen tv, so when my playlist ediotor is open it takes up the entire screen and it will fit 50 or so songs at a time so I like seeing the albums in order.

the nearest thing is to disable the sorting of the search results (i think it's on the page before the about page for the plugin's preferences) so it'll then show things in the order that they are in the playlist editor. other than that there's not too much else which can be done without slowing down the search results since the dialog is just fed the playlist contents as they are and the list control by default was alphabetically sorting as per the OS sorting algorithm.
