Music+Mic at the same time?

Hi. I wanna use my mic, while the music is playing. However, I've only managed to broadcast through my mic, with no music. Is there any way to broadcast the music from the pc, but in the same time, broadcast through my mic? I know it sounds confusing, but I hope you understood. I'm using Windows XP.

If you're using XP, as you say, you need to call up the mixer, under "Sounds and ... somethingorother". Open up the Stereo Mix or Wave fader and un-mute it. Fade it down slightly to speak, if you must talk over music.

They have forgotten to include that in Vista.

Some external soundcards have "What-U-Hear" - same thing.

I need a little bit more help. I did as you said, but 2 things will happen every time I try to speak. 1) The music gets mixed, and then I have to shut the radio down. 2) I can broadcast through the mic, but the song is not broadcasted.

Could you please give me a detailed guide, of the steps that I need to follow every time I wish to speak over the music?

Note that I have only 1 computer, so I run the player and the shoutcast on the same machine.

When will Oddcast (or whatever it's new name is) or the Shoutcast DSP devs get this sorted on the Winamp plugins?

Both can do the "Stereo Mix" aka "What U Hear". Oddcast also understands the concept of the Mic channel so at least you can talk on air without all those other application beeps and blurps being broadcast.... but not over backing music of course.

This is a genuine question.... would it be that hard to code to mix the Winamp output with the Mic channel with an auto %ge fade on the Winamp output?

Not that this helps the OP lol. I gave up trying to talk over music with winamp and either plugin, now I just use Oddcast plugin and just go to Mic on silence.

Not the end of the world
