Unique and Useful: Dynamic Volume Normalizer

What I want to see is the ability to normalize speaker output. multimedia. A "Master Volume Control". The idea is that when some songs or internet ads or program sounds become too loud, they are rebalanced, live, to a more suitable volume. And if a noise is too quiet, it will be likewise enhanced to an audible volume.

Something like having the volume control move dynamically in response to noise spikes. I know y'all have the expertise to make it excellent and more in-depth as well.

honestly? This idea came from not wanting to be yelled at by my speakers every time I win a free iPod or Wii. I think that a lot of people feel the same way.

You might want to check out one of the various limiter/compressor plugins. May not do exactly what you're asking, but should at least be able to eliminate the volume spikes.

most creative sound cards have this feature, they call it SVM (smart volume management), you might also want to try winamp's replay gain analyzer.

I hate everyone, so you don't have to.
