Auto-Tag bug

Hey. I think I found a new bug using the "Auto-Tag" feature.
I have tried Auto-Tagging with two methods. In one of the methods I found a bug, in the other NOT.

Method 1:
In the PE/ML (or whatever), Rightclick on a song -> View file info. Press the "Auto-Tag" button. All info will be found except the "Genre". The Genre will never be found using this method. And if the genre was there before Auto-Tagging, it will now be removed.

Method 2:
In the PE/ML (or whatever), Rightclick on a song -> Send to -> "Auto-Tag". All info will be found, ALSO the Genre.

So using Method 1, I cant find the Genre, no matter what. If the genre is already listed and I use Method 1, it will be removed.
Using Method 2 the genre will almost always be found.

So my conclusion is that this have to be a bug (in Method 1 - view file info -> Auto-Tag button).

Can you reproduce?

Ah dammit :-)

So you have a song with no metadata/genre, you rightclick on the song -> view file info -> press the "Auto-Tag" button, and the Genre will be found? Weird.. I cant get the Genre using this way. I can only get it using Send to -> Auto tag. I have to test it more I assume..

Are you sure you did it in the right way?

Sorry Egg, but I can reproduce #1, it never will find any Genre for me too, when using the Auto-Tag button from the view file info dialog. I always thought, that the the lame Gracenote service was to blame for the empty Genre field, but since it's really working when using the Send To menu, it seems to be a bug.

Yeah, I couldn't repro it at first, but then I tried again, and could, lol.

I copied this thread over to the internal bugtracker a week or so ago.
No news yet...
