Bento Design Flaw

Probably my favorite skin at the moment is the bento. Well designed and looks nice.

But I really don't see why the video can't be separated from the control bar like the Winamp Modern Skin. If you're watching video theres a huge area at the top of stuff thats really not necessary to use all the time ( visualizer controls, playlist, etc.) It just looks blocky, weird, and unfinished.

If there's a setting I'm missing someone please let me know. Otherwise I'd like to see this feature added back into the player. Thanks.

switch to winamp modern then u'll have this feature.
bento is designed as a SOLE single ui skin so the main core components are all placed within the main window

that's odd. I wasn't trying to help. I was trying to point out the flaw of posting a request to change a skin in a forum, instead of contacting the author of the skin directly. I guess I might have been a little too subtle in my delivery.

as for your original post, you say you "would like to see this feature added back into the player"
if I recall correctly, that "feature" never existed in the Bento skin, and therefore cannot be "added back" into it. if you don't want to see the player functions while viewing video, don't use Bento, or learn how to modify the skin, and make your own "personal" version

others have made comment about this especially when 5.5 was released and Bento was made available. however, no one who made comment did anything about it that i've seen / been made aware off. there should be enough information around to allow you to do what you're wanting i would think on the skinning sites (not being a skinner i can't really recommend things)

Have 3 solutions for you:
- Dbl click the video and watch the video fullscreen
- Mod Bento to your needs
- Maybe check ClassicPro out (see signature)... you can hide most of the stuff
