Skins Not Showing Up

Hi I am having trouble with the skins that I download not showing up.I am running Vista.They download but I can't find them anywhere.I had this trouble one time before and I don't remember how I corrected it.If I am not mistaken I had to rename the and change something in the skin options.Thanks

Make sure you have installed the FULL version of Winamp. (Lite doesn't support the modern skins). Also a complete uninstall and reinstall should fix the skin association issues.

hi, i'm very novice to working on these things by myself. i am somewhat technologically savvy, but have to get it under my skin first. i just upgraded to winamp 5.51 (x86) i decided that i'd like to try a new skin and downloaded what i thought was the file. well it has not refreshed into the new skin. how do i know if i have the "lite" version? i'm ready to jump into the world of saving music etc.. winamp seems the best so far and i'm used to it. any help would be appreciated.. i only upgraded and downloaded the skin yesterday.

The latest version of Winap is 5.541, is that what you meant to say?

The Media Library (AKA Winamp Library) is not included with the Lite package of Winamp. So, if you don’t have the ML it is a good indication you have Winamp Lite.

It is possible to accidentally uncheck Modern Skin support during setup. You can check for it by...[list=1][*] Winamp > Ctrl+P (for preferences)[*] Plugins > General Purpose[*] one of the plug-ins listed ot the right should be 'Nullsoft Modern Skin Support [gen_ff.dll]'[/list=1]If you don’t see that try reinstalling Winamp and and make sure that 'Modern Skin Support' is check-marked in the 'User Interface Extensions' branch in the Chose Components section of the installer.


Also, if you are a Vister user like pathenderson1, make sure you do have the latest version of WA (5.541) as it has some compatibility fixes for Vista that are skin related.
