Help! Problem with file name display

To anyone who can help me:
I've recently updated my Winamp to the latest version 5.541 and noticed that if the mp3 file did not have a ID3-tag, then the file name will be displayed. What's bothering me is that if the name of the file was "C:\Artist - Can't Sing.mp3", it now reads "c:\artist - can't sing.mp3" and displays it in the playlist all in lower case. I did not have this issue before. It appears to be isolated to my computer and not my brother's computer.

"Advanced Title Formatting" did not solve my problem: the $caps and $caps2 function takes care of most mis-capitalized song titles, but somehow sees the single ' apostrophe sign as the end of the sentence, so now the playlist entry reads

Artist - Can'T Sing

with the T in Can'T capitalized.

There's a reason why I went through all the trouble in naming the actual mp3 file in the format that I prefer, but the new Winamp automatically lowercased the filenames. Easy way to solve this would be to type out new Metafile and/or ID3 tag info for all the files, but there's got to be an easier way, say a $caps3 function that takes care of the first letter that follows an apostrophe, or just leave the playlist entry (i.e., the info that appears when you press Ctrl-E) the way it's capitalized/lower-cased in my actual hard drive--like before.

Can anyone offer a solution? If not, then perhaps there should be another version update...

Thanks in advance.
Pablo

Yes, I DID fully uninstall and reinstall

I already did both. I found out that if I went back and added the files individually that the "proper" capitalization of the original file names are retained. My question is, why is it then that the .m3u file no longer retained the Caps and converted everything (without ID3 or metafile tags) to lowercase?

Also, another less important problem (possible bug) is that when I used the library function and then accessed the internet (can't remember which function exactly, perhaps to look for similar songs) a warning box pops up saying that it was unable to process (or something to that effect) because my computer HAD no internet access.

You can click "okay" within that warning box, however, an infinitely many amount of boxes continues to pop-up without end, which forces the user to end the process in order to stop the warning boxes from continuing to pop up.

I'll have to check to see which specific function it was, but it's not a big deal since I don't use the browser/media library function at all (except when I was trying to figure out how to my file entries back to the proper capitalization).

Thanks for reading.

If you already did both there would be a HijakThis and my_plugin_list attached to this threads, there is no, so you didn't. Hate having to be rude about this, but those are links...

In order to troubleshoot properly, we need the right information to understand your system and Winamp setup.
