Winamp forgets "always on top" setting after Show Desktop is used
Hi there,
I saw a few similar reports about Winamp forgetting to stay on top, but most were old or inconclusive. I hope I can shed some light on this matter. I'm using XP SP3, the latest Winamp release, and Bento with small buttons. Winamp is docked as a toolbar on the bottom of my screen. It is set to auto-hide, but when functioning properly as "Always on top" there is a two-pixel-high bar to indicate that the player is still there and ready to expand as soon as I mouseover. I rather like this feature; I just wish it wouldn't break! Whenever the Windows "show desktop" command is used, either through the quicklaunch shortcut or with the windowskey+D key combo, all windows (including Winamp's little two-pixel-high autohide bar mentioned above) disappear, and the desktop is shown. So far so good. However, when the command is used again, which toggles the minimized windows to restore and display, Winamp restores--but it is no longer always on top. If Word or a maximized browser window is open, Winamp will be hidden behind it, such that mousing over the bottom part of the screen no longer causes the autohidden Winamp window to slide up as it should. I must then either manually deselect and reselect the checked "always on top" setting in Window Settings | Docked Toolbar, or restart the program to restore this functionality. It should be noted that the windowskey-M command doesn't cause this problem. When it is used all open windows minimize except the autohidden winamp bar are minimized. This is perfect functionality, and I would love to just use the windows+M command instead... but windows+M only minimizes windows, and can't be used again to restore them like windows+D does. I really need to have that toggling functionality :\ Apologies if I've been overly wordy here, I just want to be thorough. This seems pretty straightforward--something about the Show Desktop command causes Winamp forget to stay always on top. It is a repeatable bug on several different computers. I hope you're able to address this issue, because Winamp's Bento interface is nearly perfect, and only this problem stands in the way. Thanks, and good luck! e: I should also note that I made sure to uncheck "disable always on top while fullscreen applications are focused" in General Preferences, but it seemed to have no effect on this issue. |

Just wanted to note that this seems to have been fixed in the latest release (5.551). Thanks
