Am i right if you want to hear (not to stream) a SHOUTcast stream with your mobile phone?

If you hear (or stream) a radio stream at 128kbps for about 2 hours you can calculate the total bandwidth usage as follows:
128kbps * 60 (seconds) * 60 (minutes) * 2 (hours) = 921600 kb / 1024 = 900mb or ~ 0,9 gb

If you want to host your own radio station you have to recalculate the calculation above with a your max listener count (1 listener = 900mb; 2 listener = 1.800mb; 10 listener = 9.000mb)

With WiFi do you mean Wireless-LAN or did you mean a network connection such as UMTS or GPRS?

yar i meant i had tested it on wifi {wilan} and via 3g network.

i was enjoying listening to comedy channel in my car, but at those calculations my bill would be huge!. i just have a basic data plan which allows for 500mb / mnth .

thanks for the info, guess its not quite as useful as i had hoped.

So, you might as well go for an unlimited data plan then.

But first make sure that a stream really shows up as data and not talking minutes!!! Verizon tends to make them appear as minutes and not data when you use something like a blackberry and connect.

Your mileage may vary!
