Stream URL link on SC Server's main page

I'm having a problem listening to the stream directly through the website I have the ShoutCast server running on. I SWEAR that it worked the first time I tried it, and then a couple weeks later, I tried it again, and now it doesn't stream through the website at all.

The only link that I can hear the stream on is the listen.pls which launches iTunes on my mac.

I'm not sure if has to do with opening port 8000 on the server? But, like I said, I swear that it worked the first time I launched the server and a stream using NiceCast to transmit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you still using Nicecast to broadcast? If yes, then you need to look in the knowledge base section of their site.

Hope I got you right. Don not link to /listen.pls as main Tune In Link. This doesn't work in iTunes and Mediaplayer and what not.

1. Live with the fact that SHOUTcast sucks but there isn't any better.

2. Create a manual "Tune In" link to an m3u file which includes :8000 (without /listen.pls). This works on all players. m3u file:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,
http://yoursite.com:8000

3. Use some SC stats script to get rid of the ugly DNAS stats page.

Actually, the link works fine launching iTunes, and it plays. What I want to do is embed the shoutcast stream into a webpage. I've tried embedding with quicktime, windows media AND flash player, none of them will work. The Flash player loads the stream, then errors out saying it is no a recognizable audio stream. Do you think this has to do with NiceCast? or is there just something strange going on within my server itself. Its a Mac OSX server.

Do you know of any shoutcast streams being embedded in web pages that actually work? Not just "here is a page that auto creates the code for you"

I've done this before and I can assure you that the scripts given out by streamsolutions do indeed work. I don't know if those are the ones you are refering to or not.

If you are not using those, then check them out at http://www.streamsolutions.co.uk/res...bedded_players. If you are using those and have problems, then something else is wrong...

Thank you, I have tried that one and a few others as well. None of them work, so it's got to be a problem with my server or a firewall issue. I will check into it. Thanks!
