Plugins causing slow start up?
Hi,
So I have Winamp installed and I was wondering if the amount of plugins causes Winamp to start up slowly E.g. I got 15 input plugins (I use three of them at most), three output plugins (I only use one of them), 3 visualization plugins (I only sometimes use one of them) etc. So my questions is: Does Winamp load ALL plugins at startup? If yes I could make Winamp start up faster by deleting the plugins I don't use

Yes. More plugins can create a slower startup.

So does Winamp load all three of the visualization plugins instead of only the one that's selected? |

Ok nevermind I just reintalled Winamp and disabled 80-90% of the options and Winamp now starts up in like 4-5 seconds

all input plugins are loaded as well as general purpose plugins. with output, dsp and visualisation plugins only the selected one is loaded fully at the time. but like sawg says it's possible for any plugin installed to slow down the loading time (like gen_ff which implements modern skin support can slow things down by a good few seconds or more depending on your machine).
