media issue

Ok, a few days ago I changed the default folder of my P2P to a new folder. When I was done downloading for the day, I switched the P2P folder back to its default folder. When I opened that default folder, none of my music was in it. now, when I opened WinAmp (expecting none of the songs to play), the songs still played. so, I know that means the songs are SOMEWHERE. I've done countless searches on my C drive and have come up empty. when I "view file info" in WinAmp, it tells me the songs are in that same default folder, but they're not I figured, "maybe they're hidden," so I checked that too, but once again, nothing. can someone please help me with this? I don't get how WinAmp can be playing files that supposedly don't exist
