Real basic developer question - stream types
Hi,
I hope you don't mind but I have what is hopefully an obvious question that I can't find the definitive answer to. The stream type that is encoded and sent out from a server, can any codec be used? I presume at a minimum the server needs to support my codec but is it possible to add support for any codec, say one I have written myself? Or say if I wanted support added for a codec can I just go and so it? Wil |

technically, real isn't on the server, all your doing is encoding a launch file. Its going to tell the real player how to play the stream in real player. Kinda like a widget that isn't.
http://www.streamsolutions.co.uk/res...bedded_players take a look at the scripts after you generate it, and it will help you understand better. It should be IP:port.ram if I remember right. Streaming solutions offers a generator for this. keep in mind that if you use their flash media player generator, you will need a media server, rather its commercial like adobe or wowza, or open source like red5 and if you use streaming solutions, their media server does support AAC+ V2 in flash. Also loudcity offers a tutorial on understanding launch scripts better... http://forum.loudcity.net/viewtopic.php?id=1785 http://www.youtube.com/user/BrutishSail0r I follow Dave St. John's swag, Like this if my videos help: http://www.facebook.com/casterhub |
