Multimedia Keys acting oddly

For some reason my Keyboards Multimedia Keys will not work when I have the Winamp window selected, or when I am playing a game. If i click on my desktop, or if I'm browsing the web or browsing my folders the keys work perfectly fine. In the Global Hotkeys section under preferences I've tried using the checkbox for "Enabled," "Enable default multimedia key support," and I've tried both together. I have also tried re-assigning the keys manually but my multimedia buttons do not change the default key combinations when I try to change them (I click on the hotkey I want to change, click in the current hotkey's box, and then click my multimedia button and nothing happens.)

I'm not using any plugins other than the default ones, I'm running version 5.552 Full, Windows Vista 64-bit SP2, and a Realtek HD Audio Soundcard.
