Free shoutcast?
Hello,
We are developing shoutcast hosting software, especially for free services with micropayment supports. Anyway, what kind of features do you guys expect from such service? Good support? Advanced Control panel? 99,9999% reliability? Thanks for any suggestions. D. |

A free service will not have a micropayment. Free will be free.
Your mileage may vary! |

how about we stick to ... not free.
Anyone who can afford to provide a 'free' shoutcast service should be sitting on a yaught, somewhere warm, thinking about when their waiter is bringing the next drink ... BW Without open minds the world will die. Open yours and correct the mistakes you are making right now. |

Free service with option to upgrade to a better host when people get shafted.
I'm not here right now - leave a msg after the beep... |

There are a few free shoutcast hosts out there and no one who actually is trying to make a professional online radio station would use them. The one I know for instance does not let your audience access the station externally from their web site. Like others have said nothing is ever free and with Shoutcast it requires alot of bandwidth.

Ya that's the one that doesn't let listeners access externally. But thanks for digging up a 7 month old thread.
