Winamp 5 In Game Notifier / Ingame support

This was already asked before and I think it would be a great addon for Winamp 5!

How about a song notifier that works as an overlay in games?

This could be included in a future update.

i doubt it'll be done as it's such a fiddly thing to implement. i had thought there were already external apps which can do that (xFire maybe?) but i doubt it could be easily done with the resources available to the development team as too many games do thnigs differently making it a nightmare to code from what i've read up on similar things.

there's nothing stopping a 3rd party from implementing something but i really wouldn't expect a nullsoft produced thing (and i'd have thought the modern skin notifier may work within some games).

Actually, they could just create an overlay that works fine over all games (that`s how games for windows live and steam messages work btw) so I think it could work quite well .

you still have the issue of no developer resources to do it even if that is the case (plus would require someone to know how to do overlays and all that). i'm not trying to put the idea down, just that there is a major missing part in someone to code this.

But I think (I could be wrong) that an overlay can be done without the game developer consent, I mean, they could just create an overlay notifier that worked "over" any game.

Of course, I`m no coder but I think that is possible and I think it would be the next best feature for Winamp .

Of course, I may be wrong, but if it worked, in this day and age it would be perfect for winamp and it would set it apart from other players.

Oh well, I can dream right?
