Clear documentation?

I'm not what you would call a complete noob using linux etc but I'm having some problems understanding the new sc_serv and sc_trans - there is no clearn configuration file with sc_serv however within the docs I have a multitude of options, half of which I just do not understand. sc_trans is just more of the same the docs are unclear as to what I need.

Previously installing shoutcast was pretty easy - has it been made more difficult on purpose? And where can I get clear documentation so that I can upgrade my shoutcast servers?
