Album Art view not hiding "Last Updated" Column
just did a clean install of winamp using the latest public release (5.581). I am trying to customize a smart view which uses the album art view. the default has six columns but I only use 4. since the album art view doesn't have the "customize columns" option in the right click menu (been meaning to report that as well) i had to edit the vmd file. the vmd file has the following lines set for album art by default
av_art_col_artist=90 i changed the genre_hidden, rating_hidden, and lastupd_hidden lines to 1 while winamp was shutdown and saved the file. after relaunching winamp, the genre and rating columns have disappeared, but the last updated column is still there. i closed winamp and went back to the vmd, and the lastupd_hidden is reset back to 0

my media server had 5.541 installed on it. 5.541 doesn't even recognize the last updated lines of code in the vmd file. i then downloaded and installed newer versions of winamp until the last updated column appeared (5.55, 5.56, 5.57). the column first appeared in version 5.57, which is when ml_local.dll was updated to 2.8.

Have you considered collapsing the column widths to zero for those you don't want to display.
Should be no need to edit anything really, unless you plan to re-order things. UJ |

thats what i did for the time being, but i would think this would be a functionality thing. if you put the lines in the code why not make sure it works, the way its intended

Fair point.
Album Art view has always had a 'tacked on after' feel to it, never has been made fully consistent with the rest of the ML, even if the framework looks like it's in place. It's actually full of little errors if you look closely. Shouldn't be anything there that will stop the show though. UJ |

where is the VMD file?
Hey there,
it's funny to see that when you install winamp initially, the album art pane showns only the album's title beneath the album art.. but once you play arond with the panes, and get back to the original view you had, it just doesn't come back to that original state. Now I have multiple information on the right side of every abum art, unable to hide the info. So I was wondering.. where do you find this vmd file? I'm searching in winamps directory but can't find it. is vmd the extension file name or the file's name ? |
