'Winamp Advanced Controls' (tray control) plugin and Windows 7

I have been using the 'Winamp Advanced Controls' plugin for some time now in Windows XP, but I have recently upgraded to Windows 7. The plugin website states that it does not support Windows 7. I still tried installing it, and the plugin, indeed, does not work properly. (The button layout is jumbled up, among other issues.)

Does anyone know a workaround or can anyone recommend another plugin that is similar to Winamp Advanced Controls that works for Windows 7?

Winamp Advanced Controls is like the Winamp's default tray control plugin, only it takes up less space in the system tray among other additional features.

Default Dro plugin is sufficient. It just do what you want.

If you want to control Winamp in Windows 7 in better way, try this plugin, that uses new Windows API. You can control Winamp from taskbar. Very comfortable.

I find that the icons take up too much space in the system tray, which is why I used Winamp Advanced Controls in the first place.

what aspects of it do you mean take up too much space (has been a while since i've even looked at the advanced control plug-in so no idea what it does / doesn't do anymore).
