Ive just downloaded and installed winamp 0.9.2 for android, Im on android 2.1 and can't find the icon to open SHOUTcast. All the others are there for play lists and albums and so on but no SHOUTcast icon. Im wondering is it something Ive done or is it blocked in my region, Im in Europe.

same here, downloaded last night, was first time I've used winamp on android and after spending an age in the app, I gave up thinking the feature was bs and just didn't exist.

I came here to ask the same question. After checking Winamp's Android Market feature description, it appears that the ShoutCast feature requires Android 2.2. So no love yet for my Epic4G still on 2.1. (Come on Samsung/Sprint!)

AOnline Radio for Android plays SHOUTcast streams without a problem since at least Android 1.6
I'm hoping to get rid of it with Winamp

Yeah, alas, WfA's SHOUTcast requires Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) for the Flash Player
(the stock flash player on 2.1 can't do it) OS 2.2 was supposed to be available everywhere by the end of November 2010, or so we were all told. Hopefully, all manufacturers/carriers will be providing it soon.... |
