It is exactly what it says, you cannot write shoutcast streams to disks. What's the confusion?

You need to select the right plugin to convert to wave.
Press control+p to get to the preferences. Select plugins then output, and select Nullsoft Disk Writer Plugin from the list on the right.
Press configure and select a dir to save the wave files to. Finally open your mp3 and play it and it will be converted to wave.

Hi Matt, Thanks for your reply. I have tried that - still can't get it to work! I have it set up to place the converted file onto my desktop and a file does appear after the error message but it can't be played. When you try it just gives another error message of "no data in chunk" or something. If you have any other ideas I would be grateful if you could let me know.

If you're trying to convert mp3s from a Shoutcast stream, this won't work: Winamp doesn't allow it for copyright reasons. However, third party programs can perform that kind of operation.
