Webcast Content rights
I wonder if a Shoutcast stream is considered some 3d party content in an application that plays it.
Say you develop an application that lists and plays some number of Shoutcast streams. Do you need a permission from a Station owner, either a company or individual(content provider?) to make the stream available to the user? The reason I ask, (even though sounds weird and illogical, granted Shoutcast is free; the more listeners you have the better, what permisson???!!!) is I have heard such thing from some mobile app developers. Actually as a Webcaster you do create a 3d party content, you also distribute it free of charge to be consumed free of charge. Why would anyone need a permission to consume(listen) it? |

I will make it simpler.
Are Shoutcast listings free to publish and distribute? |
