winamp remote home playlists
Anyone know why I can only access one of my home playlists through winamp remote? I have several and would like to stream them as needed through my Wii....

unless anyone else has used it, i don't know if you've going to get a proper response.
however, i'm just posting to say that Winamp Remote is no longer supported by Orb or Nullsoft (hence why there is no sub-forum now) so might be something to bear in mind if you're using it. -daz |

options?
Thanks so much for the update. I was not aware of that. Do you know what folks have migrated to using for remote access to winamp playlists? I suppose I could create replications of the playlists from home inside of remote....but that defeats most of the purpose of using remote. Any recommendations you have are much appreciated.

winamp remote playlists wii
@streit2909 - Thought I'd respond to this older thread, as it applies to me and maybe the information will help someone. I'm using WinAmp remote as a music server for my Wii console. I noticed some issues with browsing folders on my home PC for playlists ... (which IMO is an important feature for WinAmp remote & playing music through my Wii).
Initially, I had only one playlist showing up on my Wii console. When I made another (on my PC, using WinAmp) it didn't show up on my Wii console. Initially, I thought it was a syncing issue, so I restarted WinAmp remote, booted the Wii and logged in again. It still didn't show. Then I looked at the playlist that DID show, was buried in an album folder and contained no EXTINF (assume "extra information") lines. It also contained no folder information, just song file names. For Example, this playlist was listed & played fine: Quote:

After some playing around, I think there are some oddities with the way the playlist works. I did get this one to work: Quote:
Also, it appears the playlist bombs off if an MP3 file has "unliked" character(s?) in the name [noticed that a playlist of over 2100 titles stopped when it hit the first MP3 with a parenthesis () in the name]. There may be more oddities. Not yet had the time to check them all out, but thought this might help get people started anyway. |
