SHOUTcast Authhash Management Support

This thread is only for SHOUTcast 2 DNAS users who are experiencing issues with the management (create or update or removal) of authhashes via the in-DNAS administration pages.

In all cases, ensure you are using the currently supported version of the v2 DNAS (as listed in this thread).

If you experience an error code (*) which says the create / update / remove could not be processed due to invalid or missing arguments or a generic error, then post the following information and it will be looked into with more information requested as appropriate to the issue:
  • Error code as reported via the in-DNAS administration page
  • If your are attempting to do a create or update or a remove
  • The operating system you are running the DNAS on
  • The browser and the version of it you are using

If you experience an error code (*) which says the update / remove failed due to not having the correct permission or the authhash not being valid then you will need to pm the following information to DrO to get the issue resolved:
  • Authhash(s) experiencing the issue
  • Public IP of the machine used to manage the authhash(s)
  • Error code as reported via the in-DNAS administration page
  • If your are attempting to do an update or a remove

Important: If you do not provide all of the information required it will slow down the process of getting the issue resolved. If you post something which has nothing to do with the authhash system or you fail to provide the information required then you can and will be ignored as well as any posts being moved or removed. Finally, once an issue has been resolved then the posts relating to it will be split from this thread into their own thread, prefixed with [SPLIT] with a reference back to this thread.

(*) Known error codes which may be returned can be found here.

Authhash Not Being Remembered

In some cases, the authhash you've created will not be 'seen' despite being in the configuration file on restarting the DNAS or when the source for the stream disconnects. To fix this, make sure streamid_x=x (where x is the stream number) is added to the configuration file and the DNAS is restarted.

It is NOT normal to have to keep re-creating the authhash all of the time and is an issue which will be resolved completely in a newer v2 DNAS release higher than build 29. In the meanwhile, adding streamid_x=x (where x is the stream number) will ensure things work correctly.

Supported Browsers

The following are browsers which have been used and are known to work:
  • Firefox 3.6.x to 13.0 (tested on Windows and Linux)
  • Internet Explorer 8 & 9
  • Google Chrome 12 to 19 (will likely work on older versions)
  • Safari 4.x (only tested on Mac)
  • Opera 12 Beta
As long as the browser supports current levels of Javascript and AJAX support then it should work without any issue. The most likely cause of failure is permissions issues for cross-site access of the drop-down resources which the management pages make use off.

Limited Browser Support

The following are browsers which have been tested and are known to have issues causing reduced functionality (not related to security options which can be changed):
  • Opera (tested on Windows against 11.51 to 11.64)
Currently DNAS v2.0.0 Build 29 will show the following message when using this browser:
Quote:
Problem was experienced retrieving the details for the dropdown options.

You will need to change your browser's security settings to allow remote
content to be downloadable in this domain. Please fix and refresh this page.
Future versions of the DNAS will show the more appropriate message of:
Quote:
Unable to download the details for the dropdown options. You need to
use a browser with 'Cross Origin Resource Sharing' (CORS) support.

Using Internet Explorer

If using Internet Explorer (8 or 9), you will need to do the following to allow the browser to access the remote content needed for the drop-down options which the page uses.

Go to Options -> Security -> Select 'Trusted Sites' -> Click 'Sites' and then add the current page to the list (unchecking the HTTPS option). Then change the 'Trusted Level' to Medium-low or Low and refresh the authhash management page.

Choosing Medium-low will cause a prompt to appear on loading the pages in IE8 (but not normally in IE9) which you will need to choose 'Yes' to allow the page to load. Choosing Low will not show a prompt.

Create / Update shows 'Loading...' for the dropdown lists

In some rare cases you may see just 'Loading...' for the country, genre and language dropdown lists on the create and update authhash pages. If this happens and all other options have been tried (changing browser or enabling the IE tweaks then you can try adding the following to the DNAS server's config file and then restart it:
Quote:
ypaddr=64.12.96.225
In some setups, yp.shoutcast.com cannot be correctly resolved which leads to the issues being seen.

I've created a hash link for my NEW Shoutcast v2 server I got fromn FastCast4u.com. I then set up the Centovacast server to always list public and relayed it from my Shoutcast V1 server with the mountpoint /stream. As long as I don't try and list my station public I get audio. But when I try and list it public I get NO AUDIO. I've been trying my best to broadcast with Shoutcast V2 and no luck. What do I do?

Sincerely

doesn't sound like it's correctly configured (especially if you're using a control panel to do things).

check the DNAS logs for any errors including those shown for the listener connection attempt and making sure that the authhash is correctly stored in the config file and there are no errors relating to it in the logs.

Upon clicking the :create AuthHash:

It just continuously runs.. "Processing.... This may take awhile"
Awhile as in forever? O_o

Is there anything wrong with the yp.shoutcast.com network/connection?
I have read tons of posts, but nothing seems to "get it to go" and give/setup the AuthHash for a client. (using Centova Cast v3).

In Checking the logs (I think I looked at the correct ones), Im not seeing any errors or issues there. Been working at it for maybe 3 hours or so.

and the solution was...? (as this isn't a live monitored forum so it can be a few days before anyone official notices things)

Im not sure, but it sort of fixed itself... I think it was "maybe" some issue with yp.shoutcast.com because the following day. we ran the authhash again, and it went right through with no problems.

ok, well based on someone else having yp.shoutcast.com access issues at about the same time, it could have been a bad DNS server somewhere along the route.

Just out of curiosity, is there some other way to get an AuthHash? Another Client has run into the same issue, however, this one has been going on for 2 days now, and it still will not go through. Is using the "Create AuthHash" inside the Admin login the only way to get an AuthHash ?

there is another way but it is not open i.e. you need to be on the partner programme.

if it doesn't work after a minute then it's not going to work. all i can suggest is making sure to not have any extended characters in the details being used to create the authhash e.g. ampersand and see if that makes a difference.

most likely a new DNAS would resolve the issue but that isn't feasible.

with magic and pixie dust seems to be the way to get on the partner programme.

most likely it's just the DNAS itself at fault (was my dumb idea to integrate into the DNAS than leaving it as a web-site option [even though that was broken due to other backend changes which made the in-DNAS option quicker] which would have worked if we'd been able to release an updated DNAS to resolve the issues it has but as i'm working on other Winamp products at the moment, there is no time to sort out a new DNAS release).

Is it the Shoutcast Radio Partner Program? I was trying to google it, but so much "junk" comes up lol.

If I knew much about that DNAS, I would pitch in... But alas... I already have enough problems figuring out SC v2 =\

But this Partner Program, and using an "API"?, to get the authhash would help out greatly for myself and my partner at our company.

We have been recently getting alot of clients that want SCv2.. And the authhash is killing us.

So if I could get pointed in the right direction for the Partner Program, It would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, so, Heres something.

The clients "current" account wouldnt go through with the authhash.. I setup a "test" account using SCv2 with auto DJ... Authhash took less than 5 secs...

So created the client another account, with all the same information as the first (aside from username of course), and authhash went through.

multiple authhash errors

So I have just started out using shoutcast and seeming as I don't know the language all too well yet, my job keeps me from it a little too much right now, I had gotten the authhash to work the first time, although after trying to reconnect afterwards I received the 480 error code, from the same router as before, after restarting from scratch I now recieve an error saying no authhash and double checking the code string to in no repeating character etc. so any help?

most likely the authhash got removed from the config file or is not being correctly imported - see http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....79532#remember

as for the 480 error, unless the IP of the machine on the LAN had changed, it should not have failed (but then networking can be funky at times so could just be one of those things).

Hello,

I have a client that is having issues with the Authhash. Everytime he inputs the information in and submits it it just says processing and never finishes. Why does it not finish processing?

Thanks,

Dennis

Creation process does not end authhash

Soon after filling data authhash, sending and processing is never ending. Could solve this?

because there's bugs with the DNAS's handling in-conjunction with some browsers which causes it to stick on processing. without an updated DNAS, all i can suggest i trying to use a different browser.

based on your old posts, you had working authashes as are needed to get a v2 DNAS listed. without any other details of errors being reported by the DNAS, etc. there is little to suggest without further details with the limited time i now have to help on SHOUTcast issues.

hi. the only thing is this:
code:

2013-05-17 00:24:37 D msg:[YP2] pvt_add No entry for key=1
2013-05-17 00:24:37 D msg:[YP2] pvt_add add for key=1 [0]

and this also for the second stream.

And if i want to change the authhashes over Web:
code:

Error Code: 470.
"Invalid authorization hash"

and there it is wrote:

Quote:
If there is a problem or your IP changes and you need to manage your authhash then you will need to contact support via this forum thread to get the issue fixed.
so my webradio: http://radio.bollywoodradio.de

How to add at shoutcast web lists...?

then you don't have valid authhash in your configuration file anymore according to those errors. other than checking you have streamauthhash_x=x lines and that you've followed http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....79532#remember you'll just have to make new ones. and as i'm pretty sure i said last time, changing of _your_ ip only affects editing of the authhash, it does not block the usage of them.

I have this for each one different:
code:

;DNAS configuration file
;Made with the SHOUTcast 2 Configuration Builder

password=...................
adminpassword=...........
flashpolicyfile=/home/shoutcast/128/crossdomain.xml
portbase=80
srcip=85.25.251.232
dstip=85.25.251.232
requirestreamconfigs=1
screenlog=0
logfile=/home/shoutcast/128/sc_serv.log
w3clog=/home/shoutcast/128/sc_w3c.log
publicserver=never
banfile=/home/shoutcast/128/sc_serv.ban
ripfile=/home/shoutcast/128/sc_serv.rip
maxuser=160
configrewrite=0
yp1debug=1
yp2debug=1

streamid_1=1
streampath_1=/128.mp3
streammaxuser_1=80
streamauthhash_1=ol2..............
streampassword_1=.................
streamadminpassword_1=.........

streamid_2=2
streampath_2=/32.mp3
streammaxuser_2=80
streamauthhash_2=..................
streampassword_2=..................
streamadminpassword_2=..........

So but i cant change it over admin login dna server, then i have error 470.
And thats only a problem if i turn publicserver=always

and if i delete the old manually and want make new, than:

code:

Error Code: 465.
"Required parameter missing for registration"

but im filled allthings out

So i dont know why it dosnt work...

Update:
After i delete manually the old hashes, then i can create new one.
But after i created the new and set publicserver=always all things work, exept client listening.
No body can connect and listen..
and in the shoutcast log:

code:

2013-05-17 18:01:11 I msg:[YP2] Connecting to yp.shoutcast.com
2013-05-17 18:01:11 D msg:[YP2] pvt_add No entry for key=2
2013-05-17 18:01:11 D msg:[YP2] pvt_add add for key=2 [0]
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<yp version="2">
<cmd op="add" seq="1">
<url>
<protocol>http</protocol>
<port>80</port>
<path>/128.mp3</path>
</url>
<bitrate>128000</bitrate>
<mimetype>audio/mpeg</mimetype>
<maxclients>80</maxclients>
<authhash>....it display the right one....</authhash>
<source>Legacy / Unknown</source>

for both streams again....
and on stream details it display (no YP contact)

it should state what is missing or are you trying to set a genre (or any other value) with an ampersand ( & ) in it ?

But i you read that im get registred? But after that i already cant connect to yp2 and i post my config and the output.

Or is it a problem, that i have two ip for one machine?

Oh and for this:

2013-05-17 18:01:11 D msg:[YP2] pvt_add No entry for key=2

it seems that we needed the old default key, witch we have after registering on shoutcast.com.....

provide the complete log output as an attachment - as just bits of pvt_add lines are of no use.

the log zip you'd posted is when the server is private - i'd need output from when you've set it to be public.

had you noticed the error message shown after the yp_add messages ? as it clearly states Cannot see your station/computer (URL: http://85.25.138.202:80/32.mp3) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache. and trying to access that gives me a squirrel mail login. so you need to resolve that and would explain why it's refusing to list your server.

so yes it most likely is an issue with multiple IPs on the same machine (which i'd missed seeing in the earlier posts) and issues with the usage of destip in the DNAS i.e. point #1 from http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?p=2790357#known

Ah i know whats wrong. Shoutcast get its own ip from the machine. And not the one i entered into the config file. Because this is the wrong ip. So its true, that at this ip there is nothing to find. see at my config. i use an other ip.

So it is an error on the DNAS. And i told in few post ago, that i have two ips on the same machine. one for webserver and else and one only for shoutcast.

So, how we fix it?
