"Server or proxy not found"

I got a virus a while ago that prevented all of my applications from accessing the internet by doing something with the proxy. I got rid of the virus immediately, and everything works as usual, except Winamp. When I use the Shoutcast radio window, it shows the message

"The server or proxy was not found.
Resource Not Found
The request for the Online Service has returned a resource not found error from your browser, please ensure that you are connected to the Internet."

I am still able to connect to Shoutcast radio stations when they are queued or bookmarked, but not able to view the channel listings (except through my main internet browser, but still not able to enqueue them). I couldn't find any options in the settings about the proxy, besides one that didn't work. Is there another way to fix this or reset the settings without reinstalling winamp?

I have had the exact same problem for months and have not received a solution from anybody on this forum.
The problem still occurs in latest version 5.621 and is very frustrating.

Shoutcast Radio partly loads sometimes but then vanishes without trace.
All suggested changes to Firewall tried but makes no difference.

Please find me an answer!
Thanks

Did you try emptying your internet cache?
Close Winamp.
Go to: Windows Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab > Browsing history > Delete
Checkmark: Temporary internet files
Click 'Delete'.

Reopen Winamp
Remove then re-add the SHOUTcast Radio online service...

By the way, I assume you've got no proxy set in either of:
Winamp > Prefs (Ctrl+P) > General Preferences > Specify http proxy address, or:
Windows Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN Settings?

Server not found

D.J.Egg

Thankyou for your suggestions.

You have told me these before but I have tried them again.
Still will not load Shoutcast Radio.Sometimes it partly loads but then disappears.

For years I had no trouble but ever since Winamp version 5.61 came out this problem
has arisen.

All other Internet activities on my computer are fine.I do not use proxy as I have fast Virgin 10mb broadband connection. All settings are correct as far as I know.

Get error code 0x800C0005 most times I try.
Have become resigned to using other smaller programmes to stream radio on my computer but have always preferred Winamp whilst it worked.

Disappointed I cannot get this problem fixed.

Thanks.

Oh, ok.

I'll get someone to look into it again.

My guess would be something to do with the geo-location code for ads.
Looks like most reports are coming from non-US/UK users....

Just seen your reply.

If you are talking about the adverts included in the Shoutcast Radio
programme you may be on to something.

I have looked closely at how the programme loads and it is where the advert at
the top of the page tries to load that the whole page vanishes.
Sometimes if you notice quickly a server not found message appears in the advert
box just before all disappears.

Could my computer be automatically not liking adverts or their codes in your programme?

Seems possible to me.
Thanks.

Server or proxy not found.

Looks like good news!

Has the problem with Shoutcast radio in Winamp been fixed?

Have tried loading in Winamp today and last Sunday and on both occassions
the new version of Shoutcast displays correctly complete with adverts.

Hope it stays this way as now back to working correctly.

Can anyone actually confirm what the problem was?

Thanks.
