SHOUTcast v2 Embedding
Hi all,
So I've been searching for an effective way for embedding SC2 into a web page, all the answers seem to indicate using the different flash/java/html5 embedders and appending ;/ or /; but my dilemma is this: SC2 requires /stream/1 for it to play correctly if I am not wrong, the server is hosted from my dedicated box so it only has 1 endpoint (may have more in the future?). Please, someone help? |

accessing the stream on a v2 DNAS mainly depends on what stream # is being accessed and what streampath value has been set.
in the current build /stream/1/ (note the extra slash) will play stream #1, whereas the next build changes things to be more v1 DNAS like on stream #1 where it's just / that needs to be accessed. the ; fiddle on the end should work either way (which was generally to make sure that DNAS doesn't try to server up the html admin page) but if you're accessing it via a HTML5 type connection then you'll need it for stream #1 unless you go for the explicit /stream/x/ option (where x is the stream #). -daz |

Hey,
I already tried using the /stream/1/; trick and the DNAS console got spammed with no source on sid〓1 but i was streaming at the time to sid 1. the embedded player I was trying to use was ffmp3. i was using SAM to stream with the LAME mp3 encoder... any ideas? Regards. |

unless ffmp3 is doing something weird (i.e. funky user-agent or something like that to make the DNAS assume it's a different connection), then it should have worked. might be easier to work out with a debug enabled log when it tries to access the stream as i'm not going to otherwise be able to mess around trying to install / test ffmp3 myself anytime soon.
