runtime error
New install, Winamp pro 5.623. Whenever a new cd is selected to play I get a runtime error. It reads:
Runtime error Program C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Other than this everything seems to be working. And since it only happens in Winamp I find it hard to believe that explorer.exe is the culprit. I did find that if I rename the file Microsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest the error doesn't happen, but then it doesn't go out to Gracenote either. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? |

Try doing a full clean reinstall as exactly to the instructions in the following link and see if it persists:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=161361#full If it doesn't work then we'll need the info as per this: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=161361#specs |

So you only get the runtime error when you select Play > Audio CD from the main Winamp menu?
Does it still happen if you uncheck "Use Sonic engine when possible" via: Winamp > Prefs (Ctrl+P) > Plugins > Input > CD plugin (in_cdda) > config? |

Yes, that is the only time I receive the runtime error.
Just disabled the use sonic engine. Worked one time, however every time since then it still gives the error. |

Also - what other applications have you got setup on the PC to handle CDs? Close Winamp, insert the CD, and take a note of which applications are on the Autoplay list. I have seen other applications attempt to autoplay - and crash.
There could be a clash between an Autoplay item and Winamp. (Total guesswork - but worth checking) |

The only other app is Windows Media Player.
However I managed to learn a few things today. Here's how things worked with different options checked in in_cdda.dll. With both Use Sonic when avail and Music ID checked the error happens. With both Use Sonic when avail and Music ID unchecked, no problem. With Use Sonic checked and Music ID unchecked, no error but the song would play for about a second then go quiet for about a second then play. With Music ID checked and Use Sonic unchecked the error happens. So it would seem the error has something to do with Music ID. It seems that the Music ID is what's causing the error to occur. |
