hi, I've set up the server on my computer & its streaming, but I'm not sure what the http:// address is to get winamp to locate the audio stream. My computer is 193.1.214.34 & port is 8000, so would that be http://193.1.214.34:8000 ? Also winamp keeps buffering when playing radio audio? any way to change settings to avoid this ? (I think someone answered this question before but the solution didn't work)
thanks very much ! |

The buffering can only be solved with a higher connection such as cable, ISDN, T1, etc.
And yes, that address should work. I don't know a whole lot about shoutcast, so verify that at the ShoutCast discussions forum |

If your trying to open the stream in internet explorer or some other web browser, try this...
http://193.1.214.34:8000/listen.pls note: listen.pls does not actually exist, its virtual file embeded into the shoutcast server which it streams to winamp which inturn recognizes as a playlist file and plays it as if it were a regular mp3 playlist, but from the server. You can also embed the link into a webpage with an html tag similar to this: <a href="http://193.1.214.34:8000/listen.pls"> CLICK HERE TO LISTEN </a> Result will look like this: CLICK HERE TO LISTEN If you have winamp open and you select to "open url", you can connect to the stream simply by typeing any varient of these: EG... http://193.1.214.34:8000/listen.pls http://193.1.214.34:8000 193.1.214.34:8000 Xerom Winnetka, Ca Support@Alienfactor.net http://Alienfactor.net Saveing the world..
