Let's start from the top:

My computer is fucked. I can't run IE b/c ever since my dad uninstalled IE55 I can't type anything into forms (like the one I'm typing in now) so I'm stuck with k-meleon, which would be fine, if it had right-click menus (DAMMIT! CHRISTOPHE, IF YOU READ THIS, I NEED VERSION .2 NOW!). WHY did my dad uninstall IE55? fact is that my computer was WORSE with it - I couldn't access my fucking CD drives w/o a fucking BSOD or a automatic fucking reboot. Apparently when my dad was using it did the reboot thing when trying to access a web page, so obviously it had to go. Now I have to backup some more fucking shit - I just hope I can prevent myself from downloading anymore before I format.

K-Meleon's fucking with me too. Every time I switch windows I have to start typing in a different text box before I can resume typing in the one I was originally using. I know that's confusing, fuck it. I'm just bitching. You're just a fucking sounding board to me right now.

NOW I would like to bitch about the fact that we only have 2 computers. Problem is, that both of my folks use the computer, and while we USED to have 3 comps, the motherfucking e-machine laptop fucked up and now we have to get it repaired - and we're in FUCKING CHILE! Assholes... So now I have to SHARE a fucking computer with my dad, which DOESN'T work out. THEN there's the fact that they come barging in every time I get on - doesn't matter what I'm doing: Listening to music, playing a game, watching por...*COUGH* anyway, you get the idea, and it's fucking annoying.

THEN there's the fact that I only have a motherfucking 56k connection here - of course I did back in the states, but now it's just unbearable. I NEED BROADBAND! With the amount of files I download (rather, TRY to download) on Napster/Scour/Wherever, 56k just isn't cutting it. Hopefully cable access will come around here soon, but I doubt it. (It's close, but not quite here yet).

OK, I probably won't be on here much more until I get this bitch of a computer reformatted - AGAIN. Fuck. I do this too often. and linux isn't an available option because my motherfucking modem doesn't motherfucking work because it's a motherfucking WINMODEM. FUCK! OK, that about ends my nice long bitch with lots of cusswords.

I don't like opera. I tried it once, but I find the "all net windows in one program window" just a little too freaky for me - esp. when I close the program (!). Plus, last time I used it the address bar got completely covered up every time I entered an address and the specs came up OVER it. IE's not the greatest, but it's just fine for me.

Oh, and my computer's working like a charm now - I swear it was like going from a MMX to a PII just in a format.

To switch mildly off topic, is there any REAL difference between fast formatting and zero-something-wiping the HD (Writes zeroes to every sector) - aside from the speed?

Security.

Fast formating does not destroy the data on your hdd, it merely resets the indexes. Obviously this means it will not take someone long to get it back...

Even writing 0's is not fool proof, depends on how the individual clusters are treated. It is still possible to retrieve data from the remains.

Opera is an amazing browser that's faster than IE and has multiple document interface (MDI) so you can load more than one page at atime. The one catch is, it ain't free.
