does the sc_trans log even acknowledge the command ? it could be a DNAS bug as that is not one i recognise (other than what seems to be some sort of hacked / modified DNAS).

if sc_trans is recognising it, then either sc_trans is just not doing anything with it afterwards (i.e. is a sc_trans bug) or it is sending the title update but the unknown DNAS you're using (which i still think might be a fake) is not handling the title update request.
unfortunately there's little else i can do / suggest other than you need to make sure sc_trans is using a v1-based connection and that there's nothing in place to block titles updates on the DNAS you're trying to use i.e. titles are updated via normal playback i.e. just letting tracks transition normally. |

Generally, the problem lies in the fact that the titles sometimes works.
Could it be related to ID3v2? |

the current build of sc_trans (as there's no indication of what version you're actually using) doesn't always handle quirks with ID3v2.x tags and would be indicated by messages in the log output about not being able to do things (indicated as warnings and errors).

how can anyone without logs or anything like that to work from. as all that is known is you're having issues with clearly marked beta software (so can and will have random issues), you're using sc_trans and some potentially dodgy DNAS and i don't have the time to physically look at code issues in sc_trans. i can psychic debug if you want me to but that's a waste of everyone's time.

Maybe I'll find a way to do it. Thanks.
