Shoutcast Portbase question
Hi,
I have a question re the portbase that Shoutcast uses - I have set up sc_serv correctly on my Windows Server R2 machine, and it is broadcasting on port 8000 as I need - however I need two more server instances up and running for two more computers to broadcast from (these will only be broadcasting at certain times, and it will be faded into these URLs when needed through Sam Broadcaster) - I have attached the architecture I'm trying to implement. Whenever I try to start the sc_serv instance number 2 on port base 8002 however, it gives me the following error: MICROSERVER LISTENING FOR CONNECTION ON PORT 8000 Error opening port 8000 because Could Not Bind to :8000 because Address is already in use. Now in the sc_serv_basic.conf I've already specified I want to use 8002, is there something I'm missing? |

How have you specified this? What is your exact command line to start the second instance (I assume this is in a different directory to the primary instance of DNAS)
"If you don't like DNAS, write your own damn system" So I did |

hi,
portbase=8002 directory difference is c:\program files\shoutcast for the first instance, program files\shoutcast3\ for the second instance. go in to cmd, change directory to program files\shoutcast3 and try to invoke sc_serv_simple.conf which calls sc_serv_basic for the primary config yet it still listens to port 8000 instead of 8002. thanks |
