SHOUTcast Metadata Puller won't stop trying to connect

This keeps connecting with multiple IP's and no listeners connected via the Shoutcast directory. It isn't the first time this has happened. After someone does connect via the Shoutcast directory and leaves, the metadata puller continues to hammer my connection for days. Why is this and how can it be prevented? I banned the IP's below for 2 days and they keep trying to connect:

I pulled the stream from the Shoutcast directory for 24 hours and this kept happening with no listeners connected. How do I make it stop??

someone has left a browser window open from the shoutcast.com site player and that's what is trying to get the tiles for the stream. there's little which can be done if someone has left a browser window open as they trigger the call to the metadata puller script and the only option we'd have is pulling the script but that then completely breaks title updates for the site player so that's not an option. other than banning the metadata puller connection, there's little that can be actively done (and just re-inforces my dis-like of the site player due to this sort of crap it causes people).
