hey i was reading slashdot like i usually do, when i came across this article about a new plugin for IE4+ called Inferno... i went to the product's website... (http://www.vitanuova.com) where it says:
"From the creators of Unix and C, a choice of new, innovative, royalty-free, operating systems for network devices and embedded systems, with Source!" and so i checked out the inferno part of the site, i learned it's actually a new OS that runs on unix's great philosophy of "everything is a file" i didn't want to download the OS cuz it's damn huge and i don't really want it anyways, but i got the inferno plugin for IE4+ instead (http://www.vitanuova.com/inferno/pidoc/index.html) so i got it... it's less than a meg, and went to the samples page, where you can get like imaging and gaming samples and stuff, then i saw how fast the applets loaded, HOLY SHIT! java would have taken 30 seconds to 1 minute this inferno applet only took like 3 seconds... anyways, i just wanna know what you guys think of it... am i alone on saying this is going to replace java sometime soon? |
