I see this whole thing... as ludicrous. The way I see it... someone can flood the board, and clearly useless posts will be deleted. And the user will be vicously repremanded by the other forum people (Even posts in this string verify my opinion)- until either he rights his wrongs and becomes better or leaves the forum. The innate natural democracy/mob-rule of the forum asserts itself and corrects the problem.
The titles... are tools... and nothing more, to see how often someone posts. If i was new to this forum, and saw RedVsion a major dude, I would know he has been here for awhile. People who have been here awhile... will know if
someone has a "Major Dude" in their title and in reality is a Major Jackass. So do stop squabbling about social advancement- that all comes from experience, time, and relationship building - not some hollow title handed out to you from a computer that counts your posts... (Of course,
moderatorships are not simply handed out, but someone who
posts hundreds of meaningless nothing would never recieve one)
As far as titles handed out on the basis of time - I
like it, but how does it prevent a member who posted once
and then returned a year later and posted again from achieving "senior" status?
And Sarge, relax. We joke about it but the truth is you've been much better about that in the last months...
