Howdy!
Just got internet access from home (had to install a modem, *yeck*) Went to look for drivers for my Banshee and what do I discover?

3dfx has been bought almost entirely by NVidia. Now, in the battle between the two, I always would have taken Nvidia's side, and had a healthy disrespect for 3dfx (being a former ViRGE enthusiast.) True, now the big cahoonah is gone, but will Nvidia become as nasty as 3dfx was? They have no competition, unless S3 gets its act together.

What do you think? Help me decide if I should be scared, or if I should buy a GeForce now, while they are less than $3,000.

Thanks!

I dunno... I'm quite content with my Voodoo3 3000 video card. QuakeIII looks mighty fine with 3DFX OpenGL...

AOL

nVidia, taking over small companies, merging with a large, powerful company.

Sound like AOL/Time Warner to me...
