I was just wondering....
'cuz I found out that
one of the new 5-star-rated skins, Slick series 2 has the same eq slider bars as SnipeAmp by Ampburner. I think the author of the skin just changed the color/hue using PS or PSP. Is it OK to do?

I'm not 100% sure because I haven't been able to download the new skin--deadlink

Am I right? (If I'm wrong, I'm terribly sorry.)

Ever seen any underground webdesign pages? I've been around there for a while, and have seen a lot which were almost exactly the same. Then I found out that these people use the term "getting inspired by" instead of "steal"... Well, I guess that's just how our new bright 'virtual' world is working like.

Yeah I see what you mean Jongmin, thnx for letting me know...btw I also find the plbuttons very "similar"

So I Dl'ed the skin, and he actually admits 'borrowing' some parts from me

Quote:
from his readme.txt....
This Development in its entirety was made by me...and Using some ideas I have seen (not Copied from) I have made some possible similarities in
my skin as some other skins that you can download. Please If you like this you will like: SNIPE, DX.

For the Individuals that I may have inadvertantly used a similar part in my version: I thank you, very much. Again the Idea not the File was used.

..., and also he just used some details from my skin, and used them on his own (very original) work ... So I don't mind (As you can see in my skin's readme.txt, I actually give ppl permission to use my work for their own skins, as long as they ASK me first, which he didn't do...which isn't very nice, but hey I'll get over it

still...thnx Jongmin

And the top has a definite "Zeus" look. Plagerism or just building on previous successes of others? You be the judge.

you're welcome, c.c.

I didn't know that there was a readme file (I couldn't download the skin at that time because the link was broken.)

Whats it name.

Rip2,, Oh I mean slick2, Being new to winamp skinning I have downloaded about 50 or 60 skins in the last month and I can see about 4 or 5 things that are just blantant idea rips. Your slides, The playlist list button from another skin. The simularity of the playlist buttons. The zeus shape. The posbar and volume backgrounds from another skin.
How many ideas does he need to be inspired. Alot I guess.

Try using the skin... There are so many problems with the buttons that I'm pretty sure he didn't copy and past parts.

I've bitched about this skin in another thread so I won't ramble, but turn the volume all the way down and watch how the volume bar moves...
