Wow.. the forum will actually have a question not answered somewhere previously unless i'm dead and don't know it.

Buffer position..
Where is it determined from?
Is this one of the settings in the broadcasters winamp or the clients?
Could this be used to determine the type of client connection?

i give 99% of chance, that there is no buffer counter. you wanted to see how much buffer is left on every client, did you? well , in my 5 months of streaming my radio i haven't seen that..

Actually, if you bring up the Shoutcast Administrator page in a Browser, it lists any current connections along with their buffer position. Now as to what that number actually means, I'm stumped.
