Shoutcast DNAS vs RadioDJ installation

Help needed.


I'm facing the following problem.
and hope you are willing to help me solve this problem I'm dealing with.

I have install the Shoutcast DNAS system according to the spec but still I'm not able to make an connection with the server.

To make an connection I'm using AltaCast for SHOUTcast. See image.

I'm receiving an Error saying that the specified password is not correct.

I receive a 480 Error fault code what is saying that the streaming can not see the server.

Stream Status: Stream is currently down.
There is no source connected or no stream is configured for stream #1.
Listener Peak: 1


I also can not sign into this domain: http://127.0.0.1:8000/admin.cgi?sid=1&mode=register
Error: website is not available

This is one of the 50 entries in the command prompt from AltaCast I have try with different passwords.

re altacast password error - make sure your password does not include anything outside a-z,A-Z and 0-9 - if altacast is based on original edcast (rather than the much improved but no longer available edcast reborn) then it handles passwords very poorly - the original coder mustlve had a stroke when he wrote that part of the code, because it was quite simply wrong. Again, I don't know if the authors of (the now abandoned) altacast fixed this code or not

Thanks for noticing.
How do I change my pasw for my Altacast. I'm not a scripter so I don't really know but is it possible to do this in the config file?

Could you point me into the right direction.

Altacast isn't supported anymore by the RadioDJ community plus it hasn't seen any development since March this year...

The stand alone version does NOT work with Shoutcast 2 servers...

If its not working for you then you might need to find a better solution for streaming to Shoutcast with .... i.e M B Recaster/Radio Caster etc...

I have download and installed Shoutcast DNAS but for some reason I can not connect to the source. The message will say. This stream is configured but has no source connected.

There is no source connected or no stream is configured for stream #1

Stream Details
Intri file is empty
Backup file is empty

Idle time out is 30s



How do I configure this and connect to the source?

those errors suggest there is no source connected - so a client can't connect if no source connected

Having seen a picture on another forum from this user one issue he definitely has is the sample rate is wrong it should be 22050 or 44100

8000 is your PORT number not samplerate.

DJ-Gary & Jaromanda, Thank you for all your help and information.

I have checked the xml files from Icecast because it looks like some where I had used a wrong password. Now that I was able to fix that and get a green light on my connector, what means that RadioDJ is up and running, I still can not get the SHOUTcast link working.

I also notes that to make my Icecast connection work I must open the batch file to keep Iceast running. Is there some other way to get around this so that Icecast automaticky opens this file when starting RadioDJ?

I think part two of my journey to get the radio station up is to check why I can not get the SHOUTcast link working.
Where do I start looking for this link to functioning?
Do you have any suggestions for me?

I'm happy to say that also the second part of my journey is locally solved.

In the admin section of Icecast I was able to download a M3U link, right click on it and open it with WMP and yes we got music, locally. That is great but with Radio DJ we want to broadcast our music.

The question that I myself can not answer is, How do I get the music on our website for external listeners?

In Icecast there is a 'listenurl : http://Radiofamily7:8000/listen '. this link gives an Error.

May I ask how to solve this part?
