Hi - im hoping to do a live broadcast using shoutcast and the line-in plugin for winamp (to capture a live performanace..) everything works fine broadcasting from winamp using mp3'sbut as soon as i change to line-in - i can hear the input on my local machine, but the server times out(after 30secs) - saying no data from source.
Any ideas??? Pete@mediamaker.co.uk |

I think you need to go into WinAmp, hit CTL-L, and enter linein:// or linerec://.
I'm not sure exactly what the difference is on these. I'm just quoting other messages I've seen on the matter. Ruph |

Yey, cheers I think ive figured it out now. There seems to be two different plugins available, one which uses the linein:// method and the other the linerec:// on some systems linein:// seems less likely to work, I switched to the other plug in and every thing went swimingly...

Hopefully this will help

Herein I present the link for the linein:\\ plug-in. It works sweet for me! It allows me to stream 2 different bandwidths. I could do so before, but only by having one stream slave off another. Either way, lemme know if this is what you are looking for! I have found that almost everything is possible with WinAmp/ShoutCast, all it takes is hours and hours of slogging through impossibly complex hyperbole. If only they would consent to hire a decent prject manageger! Either way, post back here if this does not solve your problem, I know enough about this shit now to make most things work! dj malloc() |
