For the next version of WinAMP it'd be REALLY useful to have a 'DCMA compliant' shuffle mode or 'Shoutcast friendly shuffle' where it wouldn't replay the same tracks until it'd played every other track on the list.
E.g. if you have 1000 tracks on shuffle, it wouldn't replay any of them until it'd played all 1000.. |

Isn't that how winamp is set up already? I put 800 songs on shuffle on my winamp, and all 800 play before the same song gets played again....

Why would that be needed when there are programs out there that work with WinAmp to control your music. From what is played, to requests, to even inserting your promotional ads. Try SAM at http://www.audiorealm.com Its the Streaming Audio Manager.

You need something to manage your stream. WinAmp is a great player/streamer. Now you need a Manager. SAM is the only FREE Audio Manager out there that works great with WinAmp and ShoutCast.
Maybe with that said, some other programers will come up with something else, a choice for you people that don't care for SAM. Some people don't really know what SAM can do. Check out my site. SAM up-dates the PLAYING page, the PLAYLIST page (were you can instantly request songs), my main page lets you know whats song is up next, even in my IRC chat channel SAM informs the users of what song is playing & allows request right from the IRC chat channel. I don't work for those at AudioRealm or SpecialAudio, but what they offer for free is awsome! I keep seeing broadcasters like yourself asking for creative programs, and SAM does most of them already. If anyone needs one on one help with setting up SAM to work for YOU, I will be glad to help, and if you ask those at AudioRealm.com and SpecialAudio.com they will be glad to help also. |

Maybe I'll give it another try, it just seemed overly bloated last time I tried it.

Go to:
http://www.oddsock.org There is a program called "Do Something". You can control your playlist with it as well as other kick ass things. |
