Hello All,
I'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this situation. I had my shoutcast broadcasting just fine a few nights ago... then the next morning and until now (4 days later) I keep getting a timeout. I'm running windows2000 from my college over the ethernet.. Is it possible that once they saw my server running that they opted to firewall the hell outta me? The shoutcast server picks up my correct IP address... and like I said before everything was working great... until now.. and nothing has changed....any steps I can do to correct this problem? please help! Below is the errors I'm getting... THANKS! -J <02/14/01@21:24:23> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/win32 v1.8.0 (Jan 2 2001) starting up... <02/14/01@21:24:23> [main] loaded config from C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.ini <02/14/01@21:24:23> [main] initializing (usermax:100 portbase:8000)... <02/14/01@21:24:23> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban) <02/14/01@21:24:23> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip) <02/14/01@21:24:23> [main] opening source socket <02/14/01@21:24:24> [main] source thread starting <02/14/01@21:24:24> [main] opening client socket <02/14/01@21:24:24> [main] Client Stream thread [0] starting <02/14/01@21:24:24> [main] client main thread starting <02/14/01@21:24:24> [source] listening for connection on port 8001 <02/14/01@21:25:09> [source] connected from 127.0.0.1 <02/14/01@21:25:10> [source] icy-name:Ravin in Illinois ; icy-genre:Trance Techno <02/14/01@21:25:10> [source] icy-pub:1 ; icy-br:128 ; icy-url: <02/14/01@21:25:10> [source] icy-irc:N/A ; icy-icq:N/A ; icy-aim:N/A <02/14/01@21:25:21> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak) <02/14/01@21:25:21> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Connection timed out 143.43.234.62:8000 check shoutcast.com troubleshooting) <02/14/01@21:28:21> [source] no data (30s timeout). disconnecting. |

For one thing, the only "error" you're getting is that the server isn't connecting to ShoutCAST.com to publish your station. The more critical problem is that your source, which I'm guessing is WinAmp, isn't sending data to your ShoutCAST server.
As far as I know, it's impossible for anything outside your machine to affect your source sending data to the shoutcast server located on the same machine... firewall or not, nobody can screw with that. The only thing a firewall would prevent is others connecting to you and tuning into your broadcast. Sorry to tell ya, but the problem is somewhere in your configuration. I hope that helps you narrow it down. |

jonus is right, your winamp is not sending any music to the SHOUTcast server. Maybe you forgot to click play

Hey guys...
Sorry about that but the (No Source Data Error) was because I was so frustrated from the following (Timeout Error) that I stopped the music... the crux of the situation is this damn timeout error still... I have been over my config 100 times... YP ADD will not add me because of the (nak) connection timed out to my server... I've been firewalled hardcore I believe. ANY SUGGESTIONS? <02/20/01@19:55:47> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak) <02/20/01@19:55:47> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Connection timed out 143.43.234.62:8000 check shoutcast.com troubleshooting) |
