Is there any way I can allow other DJ's to connect to my SHOUTcast server simitaniously? I was thinking it over and realized that it would require that each user have thier own port. So is there any way, other than running multiple instances of the server to allow other DJ's to stream through my server?

I think if you search the forum the question has been asked several times....Soooo, it wold appear to me that this is not possible, but I honestly have really never tried it, so I'll open up the question again, but I remember reading in the forums that it was not possible..

I have acheived "Multiple Stations" in a crued way. I copied the sc_serv_gui.exe and renamed it and then ran another instance under a different port. Each instance only uses 2MB MEM and I have plenty to spare so what the hell? Untill I find a better way, this is how it will be done! IT also allows my station to be listed as a CLUSTER, hehehe.

I'm curious as to what 'CLUSTER' next to a station name means - anyone know?

It's a series of ShoutCast Servers that "Cluster" the user accounts to give the outrageous Max. Listeners. counts that we see. So for instance, one could have a Server in California, Another in New Yak, another in London, all with a Max Listener count of 30, in a cluster environment this would show up at ShoutCast as "CLUSTER" and a Max. Listener of 90. Hope this explains it ok....

How do you setup a cluster of servers though? This is what I'm confused about. How do you link those servers together, rather than having them be three 30 max listener stations?

It's a series of relay points that you stream to. Oh geez, you got me stumped, but I do believe it's a series of relay points you point to from your WinAmp and the DSP...Or you stream to one and the other two pick up from that paticular source...Good question, never looked much into it.

Yeah, in order to have a cluster you have to have at least two servers which are outputting the same stream. So, if you run one out of your house and have Wedge or whoever relay that stream, SHOUTcast will automatically cluster those two servers. The main thing is they have to be getting info from the same Winamp/DSP combo.
