hey rikki i decided to make a new thread since the old one is getting clustered/pushed way down... anyways, i finished my skin (maybe one/two more on the way) and sent it off to you

now heres the question i have... can i submit my skin to winamp.com now that its been sent to you? i notd that you allow us to post our skin in skin sites but wasnt sure if it could be uploaded here considering most contestants view the skins @ winamp.com more than 1001waskins and skinz.org

anyways.. i want the graphical leetness!!!

trip to beach by keetah

Interesting title choice. Is it 'cause of the wavy style of the skin that ya chose 'trip to beach' as the title? It's a trip for sure ... just not sure if it's a trip to the beach! At any rate, the skin is nicely integrated throughout and has good unity. The color usage is most unique! I really like the wavy cbuttons and the square X & winshade buttons. Nice. Stuff I'd like to have seen done differently?

- In the Main Title Bar, the words 'trip to beach' are partially covered by the main menu icon. I'm sure that was unintentional. Slide that sucker over a few pixels.

- Cursors could use a lil' color. Given the feel of the skin, I'd choose a warm color to really stand out loud and proud from the background. Maybe TANGERINE?!?!?!

- The VIS green could use some purple in it too. Like maybe a fade from purple to green? Could be kool.

- Last, I dunno what ya typed behind the volume area. Can't see it. That could use an adjustment down a few pixels.

Cocoa by Assja

I really like the skin color selection a lot. The swirls remind me of stirring a fresh cup of hot cocoa. Just a couple of things I'd like to have seen in this one ...

- A transparency for the background in the Main and EQ windows instead of white. This skin really lends itself to transparency. Would be hard, but worth it.

- The brown color in the VIS and Title Scroll area would look better if they were integrated throughout the rest of your skin. Perhaps at least it could be done in the title bars of the PL & EQ.

- Some more color and texture in the Winshade mode (very flat), MiniBrowser, and AVS (challenging but possible). I love that swirl stuff ya got going and would love to see it used in the other areas of the skin.

- Cursors, cursors, cursors ... skin those cursors. Maybe make a lil' generic cup o' cocoa animated cursor to use throughout with different pointers based on where it is held in the skin.

Keep in mind these are just my opinions. Stuff I personally like. Feel free to ignore. Oh, and I don't currently have Mikro installed, so I didn't comment on those. Like both skins a lot and can't wait to see more!

OMG keetah! Just caught yer readme.txt. ROFL!!! I dunno who Leah and Stephanie are, but I hope this helps you in your efforts. By all means let us know if you are successful.

Oh, and just caught this too ... um, does the lil' PL VIS Easter Egg thingy say what I think it says? An honor indeed if it does. I think my new goal in life will be to get my name mentioned on/in as many skinz as possible. It's kinda like a Lucky Dukkie's Foot, right?! Put the Duk on yer skin and a good review is in yer future! Yeah, that's it! Hey, couldn't hurt! LOL

My thoughts on those are:

Tansparency: I think the skin may need the light frame around it, but I might chop off some corners.

Brown color: Good point. I'll try to fix something.

Winshade ,MB & AVS: You're right, they are wery flat. I'll try to change them. Don't know how to add the "swirl stuff" to the MB and AVS, though...

Cursors: Can't promise anything.. I'm no fan of skinned cursors unless they are REALLY good (as in your Harvest Moon), so I can't promise anything. I'll d/l Microlanchelo, and maybe there will be skinned cursors once in the future.

Nice nice nice, love the colour scheme and the almost "liquid" look you have going on in the background, also like your buttons, metalic, but not over powering in the design, me likes very much, in fact it blends super well with my new dark background wallpaper on the laptop, almost kinnda merges in to it, sweet. As for your readme, please let us know how you get on LOL, oh and photographic evidence too hehehe

A very warming skin, a total opposite to Chad's , nice subtle buttons going on there.
Suggestions?, hmmm, give the openers/closers a bit more life, can't tell if im clicking or not., titles for the other windows would be nice, you have one on the MB , but not on EQ or PL.I'd put them on both, or loose the one on the MB.
Your EQ vis window, I'd make it one pixel wider at the top and bottom, the vis line cuts into your border when on a max/low setting.
What else, hmmmm, easter egg, wheres the egg

Anyhow, just my thoughts, please feel free to ignore them

OK, so I'm a bit behind, but hey, I've been away for a while (but I'm better, now ).

To clarify: I actually am not in Rikki's contest. I do have a skin I'm working on, and if it is finished before the contest is over, I might submit it. But looking at the competition... hmmm, I dunno.

Chaquita Chad, this one's for you:

Bug report for trip to beach, A skin

Bugs:
- EQ Window: Windowshade button doesn't depress when you click it

Maybe Designer's choice:
- Main Window: Windows menu button steps on skin title. Not good.
- Playlist Window: Add Menu and Lists Menu stacks: the bottom icon on each changes shape between selected and not states. Only these ones actually change shape, not just position.

Comments:
- Since nothing is labeled, this definitely falls in the category of for experienced users only
- Don't like the dark time display. Bring it's brightness up to match song name text
- What is it? Jukebox? Acid trip? Not sure, but I do know that I like it.
- There's room for more "stuff" in the EQ. Not sure what, but it holds too much black.
- Classy Easter egg. Guess everyone should have a skin named Chaquita Chad after all...
